Library/SOS 6th thru 8th Grades
*This year we'll combine library and research skills along with some of the activities we did in "S.O.S." last year.
*For library, we'll take out books, read, take AR tests, and work on different types of research skills. We'll also work on typing skills and occasionally work on IXL. We also support the core curriculum by allowing the students time to work on long-term projects, research, outlining, works cited format, and meeting deadlines.
*S.O.S. stands for Strategies for Optimal Success. We'll cover a variety of topics to help you be the best student and person you can be. Here's just part of what we'll do:
-
- Social skills (tolerance, patience, stress management, conflict resolution, communication, and more)
- Games (fun stuff!)
- Ideas from YOU!
The website for the Purdue Online Writing Lab (Purdue OWL) is a great resource for help with MLA format and other research topics. Here's the link to help: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/
