About Gloria Dei Lutheran School - Hampton, VA
Our Mission Statement
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with it's School is a called, compelling, and contagious community of faith. With the excitement and energy generated by the knowledge that God has called us, we focus resources and efforts to enrich the spiritual, educational, and physical well-being of each member of God's faith community.
Gloria Dei Lutheran School is a Christian learning environment for students ages two years old through eighth grade. August 2022 marks the beginning of Gloria Dei Lutheran School’s 50th school year. We welcome the opportunities to work together with you, as we strive to provide an educational program that excels in academics while also nurturing the emotional, social, physical, and spiritual needs of your child.
The faculty and staff, parents, our congregation, and the focal point of our efforts – our children – make this ministry of nurturing, caring, and educating a remarkable experience.
Inspired by God’s grace, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our students. Empowered by God’s Holy Spirit, our goal, and the purpose of our witness, is to maximize our gifts in providing an educational opportunity and a childcare environment that are the best we can offer.
Our programs have expanded over the past several years, so that we now offer school programs for 16-month-olds through middle school. We are most appreciative of the parental support for our school and child care ministry as we have strived to meet the needs of our families.
Toddlers
Children, who are 16-months to 2 years-of-age will be able to enroll for a full-day program beginning with our summer program. The 16-months to 2 year-old program will be accepting students who need a full-day school and child care schedule.
Preschool
At the preschool level, we offer a five day a week half-day school program with the option of hourly or full-time childcare before and/or after school if needed. Preschoolers do need to be potty-trained to attend.
Pre-Kindergarten - For the prekindergarten level, we offer a full-day program from 8:45AM – 3:00PM. Child care is available before and after school for each program if needed. We are also offering a Kick-Start Kindergarten Program. This full-day program is designed for advanced Pre-K, Kindergarten students not quite ready for Kindergarten, or students repeating Pre-K. Students must pass a screening and have a teacher recommendation for our advanced Pre-Kindergarten program.
Kindergarten thru 8th Grade - Beginning at the kindergarten level we offer full day academic programs through the 8th grade. Summer Program
Reminder: You must re-register your child each year if you plan for him/her to return in the fall. For some programs and grade levels, space is limited and classes may fill. I highly encourage you to take advantage of our early registration opportunity to guarantee that your child has a space for the program you desire.
