Gloria Dei Lutheran School elementary students have Spanish one time per week. The Spanish classes are provided with exciting learning materials enabling the Spanish curriculum to be rich and varied.
The students learn about Spanish language and Hispanic culture using thematic vocabulary units, conversation, dance, music, art, games, educational movies, crafts, geographical exercises, bilingual books, computer programs and Powerpoint presentations.
7th & 8th Grade– Spanish 1A & 1B
In Spanish 1A & 1B, students will learn vocabulary and grammar. Emphasis will be on developing proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing Spanish. In addition, the students will study various aspects of Hispanic cultures and geography. The course will be conducted as much as possible in Spanish so that the students will become comfortable hearing and using basic forms of the language. Spanish 1A & 1B are High School level classes and they are academically challenging. If the student completes Spanish 1A and Spanish 1B with success, the student may earn high school credit
